Sunil Varghese (12/14/1977 - 3/17/2006)

Sunil Itty Varghese, of 28 Brookside Drive West, Harriman, NY was born in New York on December 14, 1977. He was the son of Baby and Annamma Varghese, Kallupalathinkal House, Kottayam, India.

Growing up, Sunil attended Monroe Woodbury High School and graduated in 1996 as a member of the National Honor Society. He went on to pursue a degree in business at New York University graduating Cum Laude in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business. Sunil started his career as an intern at BNP Paribas specializing in European Banking and the implementation of the Euro. Continuing his financial career, Sunil was able to take advantage of an opportunity at JP Morgan in equity research where he was part of the Consumer Retail team that was Institutional Investor ranked. Craving to leave the field of research, Sunil accepted a position at 1861 Capital Management, LLC where he thrived as a municipal bond trader.

Sunil was an extraordinary individual. He was a devout Christian and served God as an altar boy at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Yonkers. His dedication to his family and friends was always first and foremost. All those around him could feel the excitement he exuded in the anticipation of becoming an uncle. Sunil had a deep passion for music, politics, sports and art. He will always be remembered for his passion of life, commitment to those he loved, an expansive wealth of knowledge and an unrivaled sense of wit and humor.

Sunil is survived by: his father Baby Varghese, his mother Annamma Varghese, sister Nisse Varghese, brother-in-law Shinu Varghese, and countless family and friends.

He was called to eternal life on March 17, 2006 at the young age of twenty-eight.

Sunil Varghese was a loving friend and beautiful soul who was taken from us too soon. He hugged with that rare fervor, the kind only someone who understands love and compassion can have. He made family of his friends and had no problem telling people (and everyone in the vicinity) how much he appreciated them. He was funny and sweet and charming, and shone with sincerity all of the time.

It's of small comfort, to gather our memories here in what can only be a shadow of such vibrant life - but as Sunil loved to brag about us, here we will cherish him, and remember what it was to know such a remarkable person.
